In 2012, Ben Theis left the corporate world and rolled up his sleeves to get to work on his dream of going into business for himself. Ben founded Skol Marketing to help small businesses and nonprofits get found online. Ben earned a degree in Sports Marketing and Business from Minnesota State University, Mankato, possesses a love of small businesses, and has experience working directly for Google. Ben has combined his knowledge, experience, and passion to create Skol Marketing.
Marty McTigue is the Vice President of Skol Marketing. He holds a BA in Business Management from St. John’s University. Since earning his degree, he has held various positions in sales and marketing and met Ben Theis, owner of Skol Marketing, while working on the same team for Google in Minneapolis. At Google, Marty honed his skills as a field-marketing specialist helping small businesses get found online. Marty has taken these skills to Skol Marketing where he runs their Social Media Program, works on the Web Design team and manages internal marketing operations.
As Operations Manager at Skol Marketing, Lienna plays a few roles: Project Manager, Quality Assurance Specialist, and process optimizer. She brings a variety of experience, having worked with small-to-mid-sized digital agencies in similar roles and at Google with Ben and Marty as a Field Marketing Specialist. Using her B.S. in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Bemidji State University, Lienna is consistently monitoring and optimizing day-to-day operations at Skol and continuously working to ensure that our clients' needs are met. Most often, she's the main point of contact for clients throughout the life of a digital project and prides herself on successfully creating and maintaining positive and fruitful relationships with each and every client. In her free time, Lienna enjoys playing golf with her husband, Brad, and hanging out with her dog, Walter Douglas.
Emily Theis is the Marketing Coordinator at Skol Marketing. She graduated from UW-Eau Claire with BA in Communications and Art. Emily enjoys taking on new challenges and finding new, creative approaches to solve problems. Emily has extensive experience managing events and marketing for business associations. At Skol Marketing, Emily works as a project manager, social media specialist, and office floater. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her pugs, Rigby & Mango, and her husband, Ben, and tailgating Minnesota Vikings games. Skol!
Nolan Rockers is the newest member to the Skol Marketing team. He is joining the team as a Social Media Coordinator. After graduating from St. Louis. Park High school in 2013, Nolan went to Gustavus where he earned his BA in Business Management and graduated in 2017. You can find Nolan on the weekends on the golf course, watching The Office, or searching for the possible dog that he has always wanted.
Christian has over 10 years’ experience in software development with an emphasis on data security. Christian has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. In his free time, Christian enjoys working with Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms and is a Japanophile.
Eliza is a professionally-trained fine artist who absconded into the world of web design after discovering how much the two fields have in common. She prides herself in delivering elegant, solid websites for clients, balancing user experience with brand aesthetic. Her other skills include writing, editing, and use of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. During her free time she writes and creates art.
Shane is a web developer at Skol Marketing and has over 15 years of experience in web and software development. Shane enjoys being able to use his skills as a programmer/web developer to shape a raw business dream into a reality. He is passionate about analyzing process flow and coming up with the most practical solution possible for his clients.
Kathleen loves business and the passion that drives business owners to claim a unique space in their industry. She enjoys the challenge of translating that passion into content and marketing copy that connects with their target audience and clearly distinguishes their brand. She’s a native Minnesotan, and her creative writing has been featured in a number of literary journals.
Brianna comes to our copywriting team with a passion for helping organizations connect with clients through compelling and relevant content. She got her start in digital marketing during her Peace Corps service in Colombia, where she ran her own blog, edited the post’s online magazine, and developed social media brand guidelines and processes for Peace Corps Colombia’s social channels. When she’s not crafting the perfect blog post, she’s most likely exploring Minneapolis on her bike.
Sarah joins Skol Marketing after creating and designing her own food blog: www.thebuddingtable.com. She develop all her own website content, such as: recipes, photos, written articles, graphics and more. Sarah is Proficient in WordPress, Adobe Lightroom, social media platforms, and email campaigns and is self-taught in SEO, google analytics, modifying website code, and basic Adobe Illustrator.
